I had the most fabulous time on the Star Clipper in August 2013, thanks to you for arranging my return to this beautiful ship with less than 8 days notice. Having sailed on her only three weeks before, I couldn't believe that the second time around the experience only got better.

Captain Peter and his crew ensured that at every possible opportunity she was under sail. The one day we had no wind gave the perfect conditions for all her sails to be raised, the tenders put out and all the potential 'David Bailey's' amongst us to snap her at her prettiest!

The food was excellent, and service superb in the dining room, the Maitre'd ensuring that even as a single female travelling alone, I always had good company, and never felt isolated, thank you Godwin.

Equally the bar staff ensured introductions to other travellers who they felt like minded. It should be noted that a perfectly good large glass of Chardonnay came in at only €3.50, cheaper for a bottle!

My cabin was spotless, and my travelling companion, my little 'Delfin', was never left on the pillow without a paper rose or accessory from Alphonsus, to whom nothing was too much trouble.

The Sports Team were enthusiastic and encouraging to everyone regardless of age or ability, and had us all up dancing in the evenings!

Alice, our Cruise Director, ensured everyone travelling had information in their own language, on each Port of Call, delivering every lecture in English, French and German, talking personally to others in their own languages.

Onboard 18 nationalities made up the passenger list! What a combination! I have made new friends from many Countries, and indeed intend to travel with some of these again.

The Purser's ensured everything was kept completely correct, and were approachable and helpful with onboard purchases, and of course final bar bills, "Cheers girls!"
For a single woman, who wants to live a sailing ship to the full, have a great time, with amazing crew and staff, and like minded guests I can think of no better way to travel. I shall, I hope, be returning to one of these beautiful ships in Spring to experience the Caribbean, life suddenly has meaning once more! thank you once again for making this possible Joan and thank you Star Clipper and her staff.
